Our farm is a small one and is characterised by a century-old olive grove within which there is an old "lamia" and two "casedde" - typical stone structures of the Mediterranean area. The buildings, dating from the end of the 1700s, have recently been restructured to make them suitable for the countryside hospitality that we offer in the form of an "agriturismo".
The farm has 4 mini-apartments and 2 flats, and has the objective of allowing children, and also adults, to discover the universe of which it is a part, stimulating an active approach to the animal and vegetable world, as well as a greater attention to the environment, to the value of things and also to their origin - representing a moment of connection between the city and the countryside and acting as an instrument of direct communication between the farmer and the citizen. By beginning with the younger generations, one hopes to teach the animal lifecycle and the origin of the products we consume, as well as stimulating one's critical spirit and curiosity.
Ornamental plants that are typical of the Mediterranean scrub, as well as an orchard containing indigenous species, have been reintroduced on the farm. |
